摘要: One hundred patients aged 65 years and older underwent operation for coronary artery disease, its complications, or both. Seventy-eight had saphenous vein bypass grafts only. The remainder included segmentectomies, aneurysmectomies, valve replacement combined with grafts, aneurysmectomies alone. Significant complications were rare; severe arrhythmias low cardiac output the most frequent serious occurred in nine patients. A total of 178 performed on 89 There six early deaths four late a overall mortality 10%. All end-stage disease and, one exception, death was due to this advanced disease. Follow-up 83 revealed significant improvement 77 (93%). Advanced age alone is not contraindication surgery
