Expanded Iron UTA spectra -- probing the thermal stability limits in AGN clouds

摘要: The Fe unresolved transition array (UTAs) produce prominent features in the 15-17?A wavelength range spectra of Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN). Here we present new calculations energies and oscillator strengths inner- shell lines from XIV, XV, XVI. These are crucial ions since they dominant at inflection points gas thermal stability curve, UTA excitation followed by autoionization is an important ionization mechanism for these species. We incorporate these, data reported previous papers, into plasma simulation code Cloudy. This updated physics subsequently employed to reconsider thermally stable phases absorbing media Nuclei. show how absorption profile XIV depends on density, due changing populations levels within ground configuration.
