摘要: We have studied the magnetic hyperfine interactions in GdAl3 using155Gd Mossbauer spectroscopy between temperatures of 4K and 90K. Previous studies on shown that antiferromagnetic ordering occurs at 18K, a fit susceptibility to 1/(T-θp) yields θp value −89K. The large ratio TN is indicative frustration competing ferro-and interactions, which may be due combination oscillatory nature RKKY interaction geometry hexagonal lattice. Our show saturation field Gd site −24.0 T, with moments lying basal plane. efg gadolinium 2.55(1)×1017V cm−2 considerably larger than predicted by point charge calculation. This difference indicate there conduction electron contribution. A helical structure has been calculated from theory.
