摘要: SUMMARY The main objective was to evaluate the association between SNPs and haplotypes of FABP1-4 genes type 2 diabetes, as well its interaction with fat intake, in one general Spanish population. replicated a second population which HOMA index also evaluated. METHODS 1217 unrelated individuals were selected from population-based study [Hortega study: 605 women; mean age 54 y; 7.8% diabetes]. replication included 805 subjects Segovia, neighboring region Spain (446 females; 52 10.3% diabetes). DM2 mellitus defined similar way both studies. Fifteen previously associated metabolic traits or potential influence gene expression within genotyped SNPlex tested. Age, sex BMI used covariates logistic regression model. RESULTS One polymorphism (rs2197076) two FABP-1 showed strong risk original This further confirmed pooled sample. None other analyzed variants FABP2, FABP3 FABP4 associated. There not formal rs2197076 intake. A significant FABP1 HOMA-IR present CONCLUSIONS supports role common development diabetes Caucasians.
