摘要: A new class of fluoroiodocarbons (FIC) based solvents has been developed and demonstrated as effective replacements for the chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) cleaning aerospace components commonly encountered soils. The soils included aircraft hydraulic fluids, engine oils, fuels, greases other effectiveness these was compared to CFC solvent, 1,1,2-trichlorotrifluoroethane, most widely used solvent in industry prior its being banned because ozone depletion characteristics. While a number have investigated are today, none same useful properties CFCs. FICs demonstrate desirable CFCs but zero ozone-depletion potential (ODP).
