摘要: Food and drinking water are poorly delineated sources of human exposure to chemical food mutagens endocrine-disrupting chemicals. In this study, we investigated the presence chemicals exhibiting estrogenic activity in daily diet Nigerians, using vitro assays. Commercially processed foods or snacks various brands pure sachets were extracted by solid-phase extraction liquid-liquid extraction, respectively. Mutagenicity was determined conventional Ames test two complementary assays on strains Salmonella (TA 100 TA 98), while assessed a yeast bioluminescent assay, recombinant (Saccharomyces cerevisiae BMAEREluc/ERα S. BMA64/luc). A third varieties (chin-chin, hamburger, suya bean cake) mutagenic all three assays, either absence S9 mix. Of packed samples, five out sixteen (31%), found be estrogenic, with estradiol bisphenol equivalents ranging from 0.79 44.0 ng/L 124.2 1,000.8 ng/L, Hence, although current situation Nigeria does not appear substantially worse than, e.g., Europe, regular monitoring is warranted future.
