摘要: Summary. Two Zea mays cultivars, salt sensitive Trihybrid 321 and tolerant Giza 2, were studied, namely their adaptation to NaCl imposition at cell whole plant level. Changes in growth mineral content of roots shoots, glycinebetaine (GB) free proline (Pro) levels plasma membrane permeability solute potential ( s ) leaf sheath subepidermal cells measured. decreased fresh mass (FM), dry (DM), relative rate (RGR) shoots roots, area ratio (LAR) both cultivars. Greater decrease (except LAR) was obtained 2 than 321. stress resulted accumulation GB Pro The magnitude increase omsolytes higher Salt induced Na + Cl - while it K Ca 2+ the greater increased more compared 2. especially It concluded that exclusion from shoot not correlated with tolerance a possible indicator for maize genotypes studied.
