Singapore's State-Enterprise Network in the Gulf Region: Boom, Bane or an Ongoing Game?

摘要: Singapore’s state-enterprise network has been, and continues to be, at the forefront of Singapore's internationalization efforts; most recently in citystate's newest area focus, Gulf region. This paper, as part our series on this topic, studies city-state’s determined efforts encapsulate economic space for Singapore-based firms expand beyond region through a lens Singapore government-linked companies (GLCs), context unique ‘Arabian allure’ GCC economies. Our results show that while government ‘endorsement’ appears provide distinct advantage, strategic advantages created Singapore-styled projects remains uncertain; well, we find socio-political intricacies host environments continue stymie import competencies business practices.
