摘要: Arterial hypertension still represents the most common preventable cause of morbidity and mortality, worldwide, WHO states that high blood pressure levels are responsible for 62% cerebrovascular events 49% ischaemic heart diseases globally. Effective antihypertensive treatment significantly reduces individual total cardiovascular risk. Both cardiac vascular consequences arterial derive from structural functional abnormalities peripheral arteries, these clinical conditions strongly predispose to developing major hypertension-related events. Due asymptomatic or oligo-symptomatic course, before being clinically evident, hypertensive cardiopathy (e.g. disease), appropriate periodic evaluation damage an important diagnostic prognostic outcome driving therapeutic strategy in management hypertension. The present guidelines, endorsed by Joint Committee Italian Society Hypertension, Cardiology, Associazione Nazionale Medici Cardiologi Ospedalieri, aimed help physicians choose best approach any patient.
