摘要: Background and Aim:  Heterotopic gastric mucosal patch, which has a 0.1–10% frequency, is encountered when the cervical esophagus examined carefully during endoscopy. In this study, we aimed to determine prevalence of patch in esophagus, identify its macroscopic histological characteristics evaluate demographic clinical features. Methods:  Six hundred sixty patients (317 male, 343 female; mean age 50.28 years, range 14–90) with upper gastrointestinal symptoms had elective esophagogastroduodenoscopy was for withdrawal endoscope. Biopsies were obtained from antrum patch. Helicobacter pylori assessed using an immunohistochemical method. Results:  The found 11 660, 1.67%. Patch size ranged between 5 30 mm, appeared as single nine twin patches two patients. Mean male : female ratio not significantly different patient population without patches, but female sex predominant (three men, eight women; 43.6 years, 32–64). five patients, esophageal laryngopharyngeal remarkable. Eight whom confirmation carried out showed three fundic antral-type mucosa. Two antral H. pylori also bacteria 25%. Conclusion:  proximal should be overlooked endoscopy because they may lead important complications relation their acid secretion, vary according parietal cell mass.
