摘要: A histologic and quantitative immunologic study was made on a large group of rabbits injected intravenously with single dose crystallized bovine albumin bled sacrificed at various intervals after injection. Both cardiovascular renal lesions were encountered in high incidence. The stages the development these observed from their first appearance until complete regression. cardiac, vascular, alterations morphologically similar to those rheumatic fever, polyarteritis nodosa, acute glomerulonephritis, respectively, man. In addition tissue changes ordinarily attributed hypersensitivity, peculiar granulomatous consisting epithelioid foreign body giant cells follicles spleen lymph nodes proportion animals receiving antigen. Similar granulomas as well other tissues have been described nodosa. present experimental demonstration that an cell reaction may result hypersensitivity provides evidence for allergic origin cases nodosa unknown etiology containing this type lesion. time cardiovascular, renal, determined relation blood clearance antigen circulating antibody. All developed during "immune" phase elimination regressed had completely eliminated free antibody appeared circulation. These temporal relationships indicate which occur intravenous administration protein are antigen-antibody combination.
