摘要: Abstract The proteins of type 2 dengue virus were labeled by infecting KB cells with in the presence either a mixture radioactive amino acids or single acid. Concentrated was shown sucrose gradient centrifugation to contain two major types hemagglutinating particles designated complete and incomplete virus. Complete mixed examined acrylamide gel electrophoresis contained at least 3 polypeptides: slow-moving peak (VSP-3) more rapidly moving minor peaks (VSP-1 VSP-2). Incomplete yielded VSP-1 VSP-3 but lacked VSP-2. By comparing relative mobilities Sindbis structural electrophoresis, following molecular weights assigned proteins: VSP-1, 7700; VSP-2, 13,500; VSP-3, 59,000. VSP-2 lysine rich, incorporation histidine into this component not demonstrable. 14C-1-Glucosamine incorporated nonionic detergent Nonidet P40 used degrade slowly sedimenting fraction an RNA-containing core. Gel these viral components showed that core structure VSP-3. It is suggested glycoprotein envelope, protein moiety nucleoprotein core, may represent capsid tightly bound envelope.
