Opinion leaders – Do they know more than others about their area of interest?

摘要: The knowledge of opinion leaders (in their area interest) to a certain extent has always been taken for granted by communication scholars. This article investigates what really know. Two studies will be presented answer the above question. Participants (N = 119) first study were assessed according ratings on three scales leadership (Katz and Lazarsfeld, 1955; Troldahl van Dam, 1965; Childers, 1986), personality strength (Noelle-Neumann, 1983) political knowledge. In second study, respondents 727) (Childers, 1986) both studies, it was found that can divided into 'informed leaders', who know lot in interest, 'uninformed are ill-informed about field they claim as theirs. leaders' read newspapers approximately one hour longer per week than leaders'.
