摘要: Japanese encephalitis (JE) is a major public health problem in Asia and worldwide it responsible mainly for viral acute syndrome (AES). The sole etiologic agent of JE virus (JEV). Although JE/AES cases have been regarded traditionally as disease children, growing number patients with are also seen the adult age group every year state West Bengal, India spite vaccination. Therefore, systematic study was performed to differentiate characterize clinico-pathological parameters diversity among different groups. Viral evaluated from cases, depending on their severity. A total 441 were included this study. By MAC–ELISA, 111 samples found JEV IgM positive negative 26 RT–PCR against infection. Neck rigidity, abnormal behavior, convulsion, protein CSF, WBC aspartate transaminase blood differed significantly pediatric-adolescent both cases. increased compared patients. Interestingly, rise severity be patients, irrespective distribution. Based analysis diversity, can concluded that which occurs naturally likely affect severity, especially group. J. Med.
