Ameliorating effect of Kalpaamruthaa on altered energy metabolism in BCR-ABL+ cell line induced leukemic mouse model.

摘要: To evaluate the protective effect of Kalpaamruthaa (KA), a modified Siddha preparation, in BCR-ABL+ leukemic mouse model. BCR-ABL leukemia was induced 6–10-week-old female BALB/c mice by single tail vein injection 12B1 cell line. Leukemia-induced animals were treated with KA at dosage 200 mg/kg body weight dissolved 0.5 mL olive oil for 14 days gastrogavage. Imatinib mesylate used as control drug. Glycolytic, gluconeogenic, mitochondrial, tricarboxylic acid cycle and respiratory chain enzymes spleen liver compared between experiment groups biochemical assays. Leukemia-bearing showed significant increase glycolytic signififi cant decrease gluconeogenic enzymes, animals. Treatment cantly reversed changes seen levels mitochondrial enzymes. The presence various flfl avonoids polyphenols drug might have resulted amelioration altered glucose metabolism resulting regression leukemia.
