摘要: Bioactive food compounds (BFCs) exhibit potential anticarcinogenic effects that deserve to be explored. Butyric acid (BA) is considered a promising BFC and has been used in clinical trials; however, its short half-life considerably restricts therapeutic application. Tributyrin (TB), BA prodrug present milk fat honey, more favorable pharmacokinetic properties than BA, oral administration also better tolerated. In vitro vivo studies have shown TB acts on multiple anticancer cellular molecular targets without affecting non-cancerous cells. Among the mechanisms of action, induction apoptosis cell differentiation modulation epigenetic are notable. Due potential, strategies as lipid emulsions, nanoparticles, or structured lipids containing currently being developed improve organoleptic characteristics bioavailability. addition, minimal toxicity, making it an excellent candidate for combination therapy with other agents control cancer. Despite lack data available literature, molecule strategies. Therefore, additional preclinical should performed using elucidate potential.
