摘要: In patients with heart failure, plasma levels of atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP), B-type (BNP), and the N-terminal fragments their prohormones (N-ANP N-BNP) are elevated, because cardiac hormonal system is activated by increased wall stretch due to volume pressure overload. Patients suspected having failure can be selected for further investigations on basis an elevated concentration N-ANP, BNP, N-BNP. High hormones identify those at greatest risk future serious cardiovascular events. Moreover, adjusting treatment reduce N-BNP may improve outcome. Cardiac most useful clinically as a rule-out test. acutely symptomatic patients, very high negative predictive value coupled relatively positive value. Measurement in need hospitalizations more expensive such echocardiography. However, there have also been conflicting reports diagnostic hormones, they not specific any disease, magnitude effects age gender BNP normal subgroup suggests that these parameters considered when interpreting hormone levels.
