EMERGENT COMMUNITY STRUCTURE IN SOCIAL TAGGING SYSTEMS

摘要: A distributed classification paradigm known as collaborative tagging has been widely adopted in new Web applications designed to manage and share online resources. Users of these organize resources (Web pages, digital photographs, academic papers) by associating with them freely chosen text labels, or tags. Here we leverage the social aspects introduce a notion resource distance based on collective activity users. We collect data from popular system perform experiments showing that our definition can be used build weighted network detectable community structure. show this structure clearly exposes semantic relations among The communities observe are genuinely emergent feature, resulting uncoordinated large number users, their detection paves way for mapping semantics systems.
