摘要: ABSRACT Source location of Special Nuclear Material (SNM) encompassing 95% 235U and 239Pu is identified by utilizing a directional source from Patent No: US20190013109A1 using Prompt Gamma Neutron Activation Analysis (PGNAA) neutron spectroscopy simulated with Monte-Carlo N-Particle transport 6.2 (MCNP). BC-408, HPGe, LaBr3 detector arrays were used to identify the SNM total counts incident on each detector, PGNAA photopeaks HPGe in polyethylene shield. The conducted simulations varied volume MCNP input files observe how method behaved. for identification include 61 keV fission, 2.223 MeV prompt gamma hydrogen, 511 keV annihilation, single double escape peaks interaction hydrogen. capabilities systems acquire well resolved 1% relative error or less, F4 F8 tallies less than 0.015% error. predictions uneven amounts shielding between detectors was observed overpredict give invalid predictions. locations even material found be valid. With 1 Ci 241Am activity, it determined that 1630 s needed obtain results system quasi-forward AmBe source. Coupling together would increase acquisition time but only require one determine.
