Chemopreventive potential of genistein and daidzein in combination during 7,12-dimethylbenz[a]anthracene (DMBA) induced mammary carcinogenesis in Sprague-Dawley rats.

摘要: The chemopreventive potential of two major soy isoflavones, genistein and daidzein, in mammary carcinogenesis remains enigmatic. aim the present study was to investigate orally administered genistein, daidzein genistein+daidzein 7,12-dimethylbenz[a]anthracene (DMBA) induced Sprague-Dawley rats. assessed by monitoring tumor incidence volume as well analyzing status biochemical markers (17beta-estradiol (E2)), enzymatic non-enzymatic antioxidants phase I II detoxification enzymes) during DMBA-induced carcinogenesis. A single subcutaneous injection DMBA (25 mg rat(-1)) gland developed carcinoma female Oral administration (20 kg(-1) b.wt.), b.wt.) mg+20 treated rats significantly prevented brought back above said variables. Genistein combination have shown pronounced than either or alone. revealed is probably due their antilipid peroxidative efficacy modulatory effect on cascade
