Chemopreventive and antilipidperoxidative potential of Clerodendron inerme (L) Gaertn in 7,12-dimethylbenz(a)anthracene induced skin carcinogenesis in Swiss albino mice.

摘要: The present study has investigated the chemopreventive and antilipidperoxidative effects of ethanolic extract Clerodendron inerme leaves (CiELet) in DMBA induced skin carcinogenesis Swiss albino mice. squamous cell carcinoma was shaved back mice, by painting with (25 microg 0.1 mL(-1) acetone) twice weekly for 8 weeks. We have observed 100% tumor formation fifteenth week experimental period. Elevated lipid peroxidation decline enzymatic non-enzymatic antioxidants status bearing Oral administration CiELet (300 mg kg(-1) bw) 25 weeks significantly prevented incidence, volume burden tumor. also showed potent effect as well enhanced antioxidant defense mechanisms painted thus demonstrated efficacy mouse carcinogenesis.
