Anti-tumor activity of rosmarinic acid in 7,12-dimethylbenz(a)anthracene (DMBA) induced skin carcinogenesis in Swiss albino mice.

摘要: Aim of the present study was to evaluate anti-tumor effect orally administered rosmarinic acid in 7,12-dimethylbenz(a)anthracene (DMBA) induced skin carcinogenesis Swiss albino mice. Phase I and II detoxication agents, lipid peroxidation byproducts, antioxidants apoptotic biomarkers were used assess chemopreventive efficacy DMBA carcinogenesis. Skin squamous cell carcinoma at shaved back mice by applying (20 microg 0.1 mL acetone) twice weekly for 8 weeks. Tumor formation (100%) observed within 15 weeks treatment alone. Marked alterations status above mentioned tumor bearing Oral administration completely prevented tumors during DMBA-induced mouse Also, oral brought phase markers (p53, Bcl-2, caspase-3 caspase-9) treated Results suggested that had potent anticancer, anti-lipid peroxidative
