摘要: The study was designed to develop a new screening instrument for pathological buying (PB), and examine its psychometric properties in large-scale sample. By using facet theoretical approach based on literature as well clinical experience, 20-item Pathological Buying Screener (PBS) developed administered representative German sample (n = 2,539). Valid data were available from 2,403 participants who subjects three subsequent empirical studies. first explored the factor structure exploratory analyses subsample of 498 participants. Based loadings, 13-item version with two factors loss control / consequences excessive behavior revealed. This two-factor model confirmed 2 by confirmatory analysis performed another 1,905). Study 3 investigated age gender effects convergent validity PBS Compulsive Scale (CBS) full (N 2,403). total score adequately correlated CBS score. Hierarchical regression dependent variable predictors indicated an own incremental ≤ 65 years. reliability subscales good excellent. Overall, represents useful measure PB. Future studies are needed replicate samples define valid cutoff
