摘要: Objective Intrathecal baclofen (ITB) pump is a therapeutic option for persistent vegetative state and minimal conscious patients that have associated spasticity. We investigated whether this treatment modality can affect their level of consciousness. Method In prospective, open label, observational study, we implanted ITB pumps the spasticity in eight with disorders consciousness (vegetative minimally state) followed them Coma Recovery Scale-Revised, Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) performance scale, Modified Ashworth scale. Baclofen dose complications also were noted. Results The offending pathologies traumatic brain injury six, anoxia due to cardiac arrest one, acute obstructive hydrocephalus one. Two showed marked, improvement fulfilled criteria emergence from state. had prematurely removed because complications. The ECOG score was 4 all did not change during study. Conclusion ITB might be significant disorder two total six chronic treatment.
