摘要: Measurements on borosilicate fibres with noncircular cores indicate that the geometry and associated stress-induced birefringence alone are not sufficient to maintain polarisation in single-mode fibres. To achieve single fibres, it is necessary deliberately enhance anisotropic birefringence.
