摘要: We consider the anatomy and function of forebrain auditory callosal system. begin with an anatomical description organization, drawing on comparative evidence, present evidence for common principles area-specific departures from these in audition other modalities, this system its own right. also experience-dependent development commissural connectivity how it is perturbed by experience disease. then explore functional correlates organization particular attention to empirical link between intrahemispheric one hand, binaural processing other. conclude exploring hypothesis that supports continuity sensation across midline create perceptual unity.
