摘要: Fiber optics for carbon dioxide laser surgery have been in developmental research the past ten years. An up-to-date presentation of infrared fiber as they pertain to is presented. Optical properties such intrinsic and extrinsic electronic absorption, multiphonon scatter mechanisms are discussed. Real-world considerations materials selection fabrication techniques both crystalline glassy give reader a perspective regarding stage development these devices. Data presented indicating transmission ranges absorption coefficients bulk fabricated optics. The conclusions drawn based on needs clinician relate degree existing technology.
