摘要: The Gamma-ray Large Area Space Telescope (GLAST), the next-generation high-energy gamma-ray mission, is scheduled for launch in 2006. GLAST Observatory will have two scientific instruments: (1) (LAT) an imaging, wide field-of-view telescope sensitive to radiation over energy range from 20 MeV more than 300 GeV. LAT have, depending on energy, sensitivity 40 times better that of EGRET. (2) Burst Monitor (GBM) operates 10 keV 25 MeV. 4×10−9photons cm−2 s−1 (>100 MeV) a one year all-sky survey. combination and GBM instruments provide spectral observations bursts 6 orders magnitude energy. upper end LAT’s overlaps with ground-based observatories unprecedented capability observe sites particle acceleration Universe. operate minimum 5 years, first devoted su...
