摘要: It is proposed that the biotin anabolic operon in Escherichia coli transcribed divergently from two partially overlapping face-to-face promoters. A mutation increases transcription vivo creates an additional promoter vitro. The putative operator contains imperfect palindromic sequence overlaps regulatory and genetic implications of these findings are discussed.
