摘要: PURPOSE There is anecdotal evidence that upper blepharoplasty might lead to raised intraocular pressure (IOP). If this association confirmed, then patients with glaucoma and suspects could be at risk if they underwent procedure no appropriate follow up. Here, the authors aimed determine whether there are significant changes in IOP after blepharoplasty. METHODS This prospective study evaluated baseline 1, 2, 6 weeks an individuals mild moderate dermatochalasis. Upper change exerted by eyelid into cornea, affect corneal surface IOP; thus, topography was also recorded before weeks. RESULTS The of 40 eyes evaluated. mean (±SD) preoperative 14.19 ± 2.12 mm Hg. A statistically increase observed 1 (15.15 2.27 Hg, p = 0.009), 2 (15.57 2.29 < 0.0001), (15.21 2.60 0.001) postoperatively. steep K (preoperative: 44.66 2.06, weeks: 44.78 2.28, 0.007) astigmatism 0.78 0.43, 0.89 0.45, 0.006) CONCLUSIONS resulted a authors' results suggest should carefully suspect patients.
