Patterns of radiographic changes in hands and feet of rheumatoid arthritis in Saudi Arabia.

摘要: OBJECTIVES The aim of the study was to characterize pattern radiographic changes in hands and feet rheumatoid arthritis Saudi patients. METHODS radiographs patients attending rheumatology outpatient clinics King Khalid University Hospital Riyadh, Kingdom Arabia, over period extending from March June 2001, were examined reported for presence osteopenia, joint space narrowing, erosions. RESULTS Fifty-six studied. Their mean age 50 + 1.9 years, disease duration 9.07 0.84 years. Generalized osteopenia seen 16/56 (29%) periarticular 38/56 (68%). Joint narrowing present 9/56 (16%) 35/56 (63%) hand x-rays. Erosions 3/56 (6%) 22/56 (39%) Significant correlation between joints erosions, duration. CONCLUSIONS Radiographic are less severe than those West, is also different with affection feet.
