摘要: The parabrachial (PB) nuclear complex is located in the dorsolateral pons, surrounding superior cerebellar peduncle. This consists of 3 major subdivisions: lateral PB, medial and Kolliker-Fuse nucleus; each several subnuclei that have different neurochemical markers connections. PB provides an interface between medullary reflexes forebrain mechanisms regulating cardiovascular respiratory functions. It also involved control food sodium intake, thermoregulation, relay pain visceral sensations to thalamus, hypothalamus, amygdala. Recent evidence indicates portions via projections basal forebrain, are a critical component brainstem arousal system. activated by nociceptive inputs humans; it station taste pathways rodents, but its role sensation humans uncertain. may participate compensatory ventilatory responses setting sleep apnea. Involvement underlie impaired comatose patients with lesions contribute manifestations neurodegenerative disorders. functional organization control, nociception, been subject reviews.1–15
