摘要: This article presents a lightweight image compression algorithm explicitly designed for resource-constrained wireless camera sensors, called TiBS (tiny block-size coding). operates on blocks of 2x2 pixels (this makes it easy the end-user to conceal missing due packet losses) and is based pixel removal. Furthermore, combined with chaotic mixing scheme reinforce robustness communication against losses. For validation purposes, as well JPEG-like have been implemented real sensor composed Mica2 mote Cyclops imager. The experimental results show that does not provide high ratios, but enables energy-efficient communication, even source node, loss rates. Considering an original 8-bpp grayscale instance, amount energy consumed by Cyclops/Mica2 can be reduced around 60% when compressed using TiBS, compared scenario without compression. Moreover, visual quality reconstructed images usually acceptable under losses conditions up 40-50%. In comparison, in clearly more consumption than at similar and, course, its resilience lower because larger size encoded blocks. Adding redundant packets JPEG-encoded data may considered deal losses, problem remains.
