摘要: PURPOSE OF REVIEW: Dissecting the genetics of complex polygenic diseases in which environmental factors interact with genetic variants predisposition to disease has not been a trivial task and success limited. The purpose this review is provide insights into recent advances type 2 diabetes. RECENT FINDINGS: In past year, together consortia several genome-wide association studies for diabetes have identified 19 common increasing susceptibility disease. Most novel loci seem influence capacity beta-cells increase insulin secretion response resistance or body weight. Combined information ultimately might aid personalized prediction risk; however, tests cannot be offered yet predict main reason that increased risk associated each variant small. We only begun explore role rare stronger effects copy number variations pathogenesis SUMMARY: Rapid progress significantly improved our understanding provided promising opportunities drug discoveries over coming years.
