摘要: The objective of this study was to evaluate the potential anticonvulsant effect isopentyl ferulate, a new ester derived from ferulic acid in mice (Mus musculus) subjected two models induced seizures. According results obtained, IF at doses 25, 50 and 75 mg/kg (i.p.) showed protective against seizures by pilocarpine (400 mg/kg, i.p.) pentylenetetrazole (70 i.p.). In animal seizures, pretreatment (25, mg/kg) with flumazenil blocked effect, suggesting that mechanism action may be related activity benzodiazepine-binding site GABAA receptor (γ-aminobutyric acid, type A). addition behavioral changes as neurotoxicity indication were assessed using rota rod open field tests. obtained does not induce significant locomotor motor coordination when compared control group, unlike presented diazepam. Thus, these demonstrate pharmacological knowledge application epileptic However, further studies are needed elucidate other neurobiological mechanisms underlying epilepsy.
