摘要: Abstract In order to improve our knowledge of the surface ozone in south Iberian Peninsula, annual, monthly, weekly and daily concentrations have been closely monitored Seville metropolitan area highlighting those episodes that exceed European Ozone Directive. A three-year period (2003–2005) eight stations were used; five them located city’s busiest areas rest adjacent zones (∼25 km). addition, wind regime was also studied understand main characteristics atmospheric dynamics. The lowest 17–33 μg m−3 took place January while highest 57–95 μg m−3 occurred June. concentration week–weekend differences from May September indicate this phenomenon does not affect analysed. Daily cycles show minimum values between 7:00 8:00 UTC maximum at noon, exceeding 90 μg m−3 during summer months. From March October above target value for protection human health, especially months, with up 30% over limit. information threshold has exceeded all but greater frequency far city centre. these latter alert on six occasions. This study indicates high levels are due local effects, mainly since air masses may undergo recirculation processes. is transported S-SW, having a major impact NE areas.
