摘要: Computation of the EHL film thickness micro-pitted surfaces for starved elastohydro-dynamic conjunctions has been performed. Transient calculations have shown that pits filled with lubricant release part their content in inlet zone as they enter contact. Initially, a fraction this released oil remains region and produces an upstream shift meniscus. The remainder is entrained builds up at trailing edge pit. With time, also becomes meniscus slowly returns to its equilibrium position. time interval during which enhanced thus prolonged may persist even after pit left Computations carried out several process not disturbed. beneficial increase lost if contact fully flooded. Experimentally, advantage making small recesses bearing before. This paper now reveals lubrication mechanisms involved, allowing improvements design surface features contacts.
