摘要: Abstract The 28-amino acid peptide hormone ghrelin plays a unique role in the gut-brain axis: It is mainly produced peripherally gastric X/A-like cells but stimulates food intake centrally via hypothalamic nuclei; thus, providing orexigenic communication between gut and central intake-regulatory centers. Another component of axis that gained increasing interest recent years due to its ability influence signaling metabolites microbiome. Interestingly, there evidence changes microbiome are related alterations expression, secretion, activation signaling. Since supposedly implicated pathogenesis obesity, were hypothesized improve obesity modulation abundance receptor interaction. To shed more light on association systematic search Medline, EMBASE Web science using term combination “microbiome AND ghrelin” was performed. As result search, 42 publications included into this review, which 30 reported preclinical 12 manuscripts presented clinical data. In addition critical analysis present data, gaps knowledge highlighted order foster further research.
