摘要: Cynara scolymus leaves extracts have long been used in folk medicine for their choleretic and hepatoprotective activities, that are often related to the cynarin content. These therapeutic properties also attributed mono- di-caffeoylquinic acids since commercial C. preparations can differ we studied four evaluate, if present, a relationship between hepatobiliary of different content phenolics. The antioxidant activity examined was considered an vitro system. results showed extract with highest phenolic derivatives (GAE) exerted major effect on bile flow liver protection. Also capacity (BR) good agreement obtained vivo. On contrary, administering rats doses chlorogenic acid, equivalent those present this extract, did not observe any or protective action. An histopathological analysis sections confirmed biochemical results. Perhaps caffeoyl role extracts, as reported literature "in vitro" studies, but when administered alone, they so effective exerting
