摘要: This article summarises the uniaxial tension tests for 20 notched bars fabricated from high strength steel Q345 specified in Chinese National Standards. The effects of notch radius, r, and that depth ratio, d/D, on ductility fracture resistance this are examined. experimental data further analyzed using a generalized yield model together with an elliptical stress envelope originally proposed by first author. results demonstrate cracks initiate at section, surface filled many dimples shearing marks. Specimens sharper radius (a smaller r) larger d/D ratio) show poor ductility, but strength. field computed numerical procedure including indicates crack initiation occurs centre section which experiences highest triaxiality ratio (σ m /σ seq ). As stresses reach limiting values determined criterion, macroscopic failure bar occurs.
