Assessment of the Photoprotective Activity of Lippia Species from Brazil and Their Use as Single UV Filters in Sunscreens

摘要: Objective: The present in vitro study aimed to evaluate the photoprotective activity of four plant species from Brazil. Material and Methods: Plants ( Lippia brasiliensis , L. pseudothea rotundifolia rubella ) were collected Minas Gerais state, Brazil, ethanolic extracts obtained. These incorporated neutral lotions their SPF, UVAPF, UVA/ UVB Ratio Critical Wavelength determined by diffuse transmittance spectroscopy. Results: best results obtained with . It was demonstrated that this generated an estimated SPF 9 ± 1.0, effective UVAPF 8 0.7, at 15% a lotion. Conclusion: Broad spectrum sunscreens when all used as single UV filter formulations, although presented UVA/UVB balance.
