摘要: The chemical composition, pharmacological activity and traditional uses of 52 species attributed to the genus Lippia (Verbenaceae) as used in South Central America, Tropical Africa, were revised compared. A survey available literature shows that these are mostly for treatment gastrointestinal respiratory disorders seasoning. Additionally, some showed antimalarial, spasmolitic, sedative, hypotensive and, anti-inflammatory activities. Generally, essential oil or phenolic compounds (flavonoids) from plant extracts assumed be active principles.
