摘要: Abstract Adult rhesus monkeys were observed in standardized tests for female-typical sexual and related social responses. In the first experiment reported, 7 castrated males 5 spayed females paired with each of 4 intact on two occasions following intramuscular injection estradiol benzoate (EB) (6 μg/kg × 14 days) other without such treatment. EB, did not behave differently toward male partners, all responses displayed at low frequencies. showed reliably higher frequencies than approaching, sitting close to, grooming, soliciting, they presented to a proportion partner's contacts. EB increased frequency display these same five but males. The partners fewer approaches, contacts, mounts, intromissions, ejaculations regardless estrogenization. second 10 adult pseudohermaphroditic 6 control tested injections Pseudohermaphrodites experimentally produced by injecting pregnant either testosterone propionate (TP) or dihydrotestosterone (DHTP). Pseudohermaphrodites, type androgen used their production, solicits controls partners. Moreover, most lower average controls. Frequencies intromission ejaculation pseudohermaphrodites females, approach, contact, mount different. We conclude that this testing measurement situation female differ markedly degree expression behaviors, genotypic are behaviorally less responsive estrogens females. Exposing androgens during fetal life decreases female-typical, estrogen-influenced responses, effect is pronounced those soliciting subserve proceptivity.
