摘要: Abstract Resistance to azuki bean weevil, Callosobruchus chinensis, was studied in a series of field and laboratory experiments two accessions rice ( Vigna umbellata (Thunb.) Ohwi & Ohashi), one accession black gram V. mungo (L.) Hepper), mungbean, radiata Wilczek). Weevil damage immature pods the accessions, ‘Menaga’ ‘Miyazaki’, significantly less than susceptible VC1973A . In mature pods, pest pod wall Menaga higher , whereas Miyazaki similar Seeds within both were resistant no matter when harvested. When insects exposed directly on dry seeds, VM2164 them. artificial seeds made by mixing flour individual with subsequently bruchid oviposition, quantity lower number bruchids that emerged from such seeds. No containing crude starch fraction three infestation, many or alone. protein fractions as concentration increased C. chinensis adults decreased. Fractionation proteins into acetone-precipitable peptide amino acid portions resulted loss antibiosis effect. Artificial purified starch-polysaccharides fraction, however, exhibited effects if prepared seed but not seed,
