摘要: Summary form only given. High capacity WDM transmission systems with large inter-amplifier spacing require optical powers to maintain acceptable signal-to-noise ratios. In these systems, the distances are limited mainly by cross-phase modulation (XPM) and self-phase (SPM). this paper we report new results explaining source of power penalties in pre- post-compensated SSMF systems. A technique utilising a gated, scanning interferometer allowed direct measurement spectral broadening using recirculating loop. This is first additional as result pulse compression precompensation configuration, its contribution penalty discussed.
