摘要: The Swiss National Forest Inventory (NFI) is expected to provide reliable data about the current state of forests and recent changes. Since first NFI (1982–1986) a deadwood assessment has been part inventory. However, definition used was restricted only parts total volume were assessed. A broader therefore in second (1993–1995) coarse wood debris (CWD) also assessed using line intersect sampling third (2004–2006). This paper discusses development from NFI, as well tally rules estimators assessing ongoing NFI. Different definitions applied two regions resulting estimates compared. appears be crucial for estimate volumes, which significantly underestimated minimum diameter other limits must chosen with special care. Up 30 m3/ha found varying region. There little evidence significant correlations between such forest parameters management, site or stand attributes. proposed target values have generally reached, whereas number snags per hectare not.
