摘要: Weakly interacting massive particles (WIMPs) are one of the leading candidates for dark matter. Currently, most promising method to detect many different WIMP is direct detection recoil energy deposited in a low-background laboratory detector due elastic WIMP-nucleus scattering. So far usual procedure has been predict event rate WIMPs based on some model(s) galactic halo. The aim our work invert this process. That is, we study what future experiment can teach us about As first step consider time-averaged spectrum, assuming that no directional information exists. We develop construct (time-averaged) one-dimensional velocity distribution function from spectrum. Moments function, such as mean and dispersion WIMPs, also be obtained directly only input needed addition measured spectrum mass WIMP; scattering cross section or density required.
