摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the neurobiology of pheromone reception. Research on reception is carried out at various levels integration, ranging from molecular biology to population dynamics and evolution biology. The methodology interpretation electrophysiological experiments single sensilla. Several different types techniques have been employed study receptive systems. Early were performed by Boistel Coraboeuf, Roys, Schneider, Schneider Hecker, who used combinations insect antennae, odorants, electrodes, amplifiers, oscilloscopes. A few developed make extracellular recordings single, identified Boeckh introduced this technique using sharpened tungsten electrodes; later nonpolarizing electrodes also employed. application a third technique, making intracellular responses application, has so far successful only level central nervous system.
