Thrombosis of the portal venous system: a prospective study.

摘要: Background: Thrombosis in the portal system causes a wide spectrum of clinical pictures. There are few published studies describing features and consequences venous thrombosis. We aimed to document presentations outcomes patients with thrombosis and/or splenic veins. Patients Methods: The study included 95 who were diagnosed period September 2001 April 2006. Demographics, presentation, diagnostic investigation, management, morbidity, mortality recorded their follow-up. Results: Of vein (PVT), 35 had isolated PVT (IPVT), 27 (ISVT), 33 both veins (PSVT). mean follow-up periods after diagnosis IPVT, ISVT, PSVT 36, 31, 32 months, respectively. Abdominal pain gastrointestinal bleeding most common symptoms at presentation IPVT groups, whereas abdominal was dominant symptom ISVT group. During period, no seen 26 (74%) 23 (70%) PSVT, 24 (89%) ISVT. Biliopathy developed during 11 1 5 PSVT. In group, there deaths, one each groups. Conclusions: etiology varies has higher morbidity (bleeding biliopathy), that is not associated an underlying malignancy favorable prognosis.
