摘要: This paper outlines the abundance of three main canid species including gray wolf (Canis lupus), jackal aureus), and red fox (Vulpes vulpes) ascertained through camera trapping, questionnaire surveys pastoralist experience in Hindu Kush Mountain Range, Chitral, Pakistan. The study is first ever attempt to debate on status canids since, 1970s. Using photo capture rate (RAI), we confirmed occurrence sites, which include protected areas buffer zones District Chitral. Trapping effort 880 trap days resulted cumulative 23.18. Overall was high (RAI=11.4), followed by (RAI=9.3) (RAI=3.5). Maximum pack size captured that four individuals snapped a single capture, while found be solitary during this study. Furthermore, most nocturnal out canids, both were crepuscular species.
